Sometimes we are already prepared for such an adventure, but other times we may have let our emotions overtake us and the new family member has joined us without much planning. Having certain items in the home can make the adjustment to living with a dog much more pleasant and bearable. Here are some great items and gifts for new dog parents.

Here is an item that is indispensable for new dog parents, disposable underpads. This is especially true if the dog we have adopted is a puppy. Having an abundance of these highly absorbent pads will keep the floors, chairs, beds and puppy crates clean and fresh. This is also a great idea for older dogs who are not yet house trained, elder dogs with incontinence problems, or dogs who must stay indoors for long hours.

Use of these pads can go a long way in reducing the frustration of housebreaking a new dog.

The material is stretchy and will flex to fit. Great fun for us and our pup will enjoy the good humor and smiles this brings.

This USA Flag dog shirt might be used for the 4th of July but could also be an action figure cosplay costume for our pooch.
