I started a cold brew yesterday afternoon and removed the grounds this morning. Unfortunately, as usual it was operator error (isn’t it always) because I used about 5 cups of 13 grind Columbian, a really mellow medium roast. Any way, course grind on my OXO burr grinder is from 11to15, so I split the difference at 13. Normally I believe it is a mortal sin to put sugar in coffee, but it was too bitter to drink otherwise. Next time I will lessen the brewing time from 20 to 12, per instructions, grind at 11, and use only 3 cups of ground coffee. I know it may take 2-3 batches before I hit the right combination(I know it did when I switched to the burr grinder) and will not have to adulterate great coffees with sugar. Since I am not supposed to drink sun tea all summer, due to kidney stones, culminating in a surgery, I will stick to my morning coffee and not have to sweat as I drink it.

Now I will tell you about my first ever time of brewing iced coffee:

Produces great tasting tea. The filter basket makes clean up easy.
The handle makes it easy to transport. I take it to them farmers market weekly to showcase a different tea each week.
It is easy to tight the spigot if it seems too lose or moves.
The small filter on the spigot is easy to remove for cleaning.
I highly recommend this product.
Actual purchase: I picked out this item intentionally, and paid for it. No promotions involved in my decision to buy.
If anyone is interested, I put 1/2 cup of grinds in the filter, followed by 2 cups of water. Then another 1/2 cup of grinds, followed by 2 cups of water. And then a third 1/2 cup of grinds, followed by topping off the jug with water. Leave it in there for 12-24 hours and it tastes great. I never texted for instructions as I think that's ridiculous.

Instructions say to use 4 cups of coffee which made for a really strong brew. We now use 2 cups of fresh course ground coffee beans and the cold brew coffee is amazing.
Definitely recommend
Gerne wieder.
