Great for coloring, but not great for hand-lettering
These markers would be great if I just wanted to use them for coloring. Vibrant colors, two very different-sized tips for variety, and they work well on watercolor paper -- you can use a water brush in addition to these for some very nice blending action.HOWEVER, I got them to work on hand-lettering, and despite the description saying they're good for calligraphy, they're really sub-par. The tips of the "brush" side (really more of a felt tip) fray easily, so it's impossible to get a really thin upstroke. It's very easy to damage the felt tips through the simple acts of putting the caps on -- there's some ridge inside the cap that the tip is supposed to rest in, but if you don't put the cap on exactly straight, that ridge can catch on the tip. The felt ends also aren't as flexible as other brush pens, so you also can't get a very wide difference between thick strokes and thin, and the tips make transitions between the two rough.If you're going to use these for coloring books or other simple drawing projects, they're a good bargain over other brands. But if you want to do any kind of hand-lettering, get yourself a pack of Tombow brush pens instead. Or even Sharpie brush pens (though those dry out surprisingly fast.)

I bought these for my son, who is an inmate. He has anxiety attacks sometimes, and coloring helps. He said coloring books are popular among the inmates, as it's relaxing and gives them something constructive to do. I've sent him coloring books, pens, pencils, markers, and he prefers these cos the colors are bright, and the dual tips, one fine, one broad, helps him be more artistic. This is the 2nd one I've sent him. The 1st one was about a year ago. He does a lot of coloring, and the inmates also share stuff like this, so I imagine it was getting a work out. It's just a way for them all to get along with each other. When someone sees something new, or really cool like this, they naturally want to try it out. Sharing something simple like this keeps the men in a good mood. Amazing, isn't it? That these markers and coloring books keep a good atmosphere and lift spirits. The people at Crafts 4 All were so nice--they emailed me some pages of coloring, which I'll print out and send to my son when I write him again. God bless them, real good.

Overall these are beautiful markers. This is the first time I have tried a dual tipped marker with brush ends and feel like these are a good price for the product and a safe price to try something new. The colors are nice and so far seem to have plenty of ink. My only concern, though a real bummer, is that the tips of the brushes very quickly start to fray, limiting the detail work possible with these colors. Good thing the fine tip allows for detail work. In addition they were shipped quickly and the company appears eager to please....which goes a long way in a world where customer service is all but dead. (Don't get me on my soapbox!) I would certainly recommend these as a starter dual tip marker, or set for children.

This is a great seller but this product is beyond bad. The first set sent to me had no tips on the ends of the pens and lacked ink. The second set of markers loose their caps, slowly loosing their tips again, have no ink and smudge everywhere, I did buy another set of markers (same kind) from another manufacturer for less money and they are great. I would do business with this seller again. I would not take these pens for free.

After carefully reading the reviews on these markers/brush markers, I purchased these instead of going for the more expensive TOMBOW brand. I must be one of a very few who do not like these brushes. I only used the orange brush for about 5 minutes and the large brush tip started coming apart. Almost like it was dry rotted. Ok, one brush is bad, I can still use the other end. However, after a few days I was using the green brush and it did the same! The end of the marker just started flaking off. I had only used the markers on plain paper, so nothing harsh that could cause the markers to flake like that. Perhaps I received a bad set? I'm not sure.

I bought these markers instead of the TOMBOWS because of the reviews and there were more colors that came for a much cheaper price. But after receiving this set and having two of the markers flake and become useless within a few days, I put them aside and went for the better quality marker.

As I said, maybe I got a bad set. But since my set was bad, I have to give this a two star review.

I bought these markers because I wanted an alternative to purchasing the Tombow markers. I have a few of them but needed more colors. I obviously did not expect for the quality to match Tombow's, as a package this size would be more than double the price. However, I did expect the brush tip to at least stay together. The end is very frayed and I hadn't even used them, so when you write with them it has messy lines everywhere. You definitely cannot use them for hand lettering. The pen tip is great though. It does not bleed so I can use it in my Happy Planner without it messing up the other side of the page. It does have a great array of colors options. I only gave three stars because I can't use this pen as it was designed, I might as well have just bought regular pens, the brush side is almost pointless. You can't even color with it because it will leave lines everywhere. If these were just pens, I would have given them a 5 star rating.

Nice Product-the ink flows very smoothly. 12 different colors-the gray is very light, yellow has some green tint, the purple is close to pink, two different blues and two different greens. You need to store horizontally, and be careful putting the lids on. One brush (dark green) was a little messed up, that's the only reason for 4 stars. Other than that, great pens!
