Bought this for use with a square sandcastle cake pan for a birthday party, and I've been very happy with it. It's very pretty- lovely color and grain are well represented in the item photos. Apparently good construction. Wiped clean easily. It's nice and smooth, no roughness. I expect it will maintain well with butcher block/cutting board oil, and I also expect it will make a nice presentation for a cheese wheel during the holidays. Good value for the price, I highly recommend this one.

It's a really beautiful cake stand but it's a little top heavy and almost flips if you are pushing down on one side. It almost flipped while cutting a cake. It's still very pretty and worth purchasing, just something to be aware of. I wouldn't put a really tall layered cake on it.
