If you want a white kettle with no plastic touching the water, and temperature control, this is not only your only option, it is FANTASTIC! We use this every morning to make pour-over coffee. The "Keep Warm" button is great - just start it up and come back to it when you need it. Whether making breakfast takes five minutes or twenty, it doesn't matter, your water will be at the right temp when you need it! The inside is all ceramic except for stainless steel on the bottom and a few silicon gaskets. These are all cooking-safe materials, unlike the plastic parts in many electric kettles (I'm a chemist). It pours a steady clear stream from the spout. Not as narrow a stream as the specialized pour-over coffee gooseneck kettles, but it works well for it anyway. To get to a full rolling boil and beep "done," it takes more than five minutes, not super slow but it has a lot of ceramic to heat up in addition to the water. It is heavy... a 1.5 L ceramic kettle of water is heavy. I don't really mind. And, lastly, it looks super classy in our kitchen. It is *so difficult* to find kitchen stuff that isn't the ugly standard combination of black plastic and stainless steel.
Willow & Everett is a reputable company in my experience. My original review indicated that the kettle made an electric whistling noise, and they immediately sent a replacement. The noise was a fluke and the new kettle is perfectly silent. Thanks!
The following was my original review. I updated it from three to five stars because Willow & Everett contacted me, said my kettle was a lemon, and sent me a new one. The new kettle does NOT have the electric whistling noise and is absolutely perfect. This kettle works well. I really appreciate having temperature options, and a "keep warm" button. The actual temperature comes out a bit lower than what the buttons say. When filled with cold water, it takes maybe 4 or 5 minutes to finish getting up to a boil. As it approaches boiling it seems to cycle the heat on and off a bunch; I'm guessing this has to do with its large size and the need to give the heavy ceramic material time to absorb heat? My only complaint is that somewhere in the electronics there is a cheap component that whistles with the volume pulsing up and down at a few hertz, sounds kind of like a sci fi laser gun sound effect. The sound is there even when it's turned off (but is louder and changes frequency when the button lights are on or the heating element is on). This makes me nervous to leave it plugged in. Some asking around has led me to conclude that there's a cheaply made capacitor somewhere in the electronics. I don't think it's a fire hazard, and I don't think it draws much current - just annoying.

**UPDATE: I continued to use the Kettle because I couldn't find another ceramic electric kettle with temp control that I liked. I still wish it could be filled past the min fill line without spewing boiling water but I just kept the water level low and avoided the boil and 200 degree buttons. Well anyway, I purchased it in Sept of 2017 and it stopped working Dec 2018. I'm looking to purchase another kettle but probably not this one due to the spew factor and that it has DOUBLED in price. When I purchased it last year I paid $55! And no, it wasn't on sale.Original review: This pot is beautiful and well made. However it cannot be filled to max fill line. It cannot be filled half way. Once the water level reaches the holes leading to the spout the pot will spit and spew upon reaching a boil. The settings are nice, they are why I chose this pot. But I can only fill it to the minimum fill line for it to work properly. While this pot may not have worked out for me, I can say that Willow and Everett provide outstanding customer service. They make a selection of other beautiful pots that I would have definitely tried had I not been specifically looking for one with programmable temperatures. Should you try one of their pots and have any issues be sure to contact Willow and Everett directly. For me this was a one star pot but five star customer service.
