The color is way off
I like this comforter a lot, but the color is way off. I ordered two identical comforters one month apart: queen size burgundy. The first comforter is red with an orange tinge and the second comforter is red with no orange tinge. Neither are anywhere near burgundy. I have included a photo of the two comforters next to each other to show the color difference. I also have my black cat in the picture as a contrast. The comforter itself is quite nice and lightweight which is what I wanted and we are keeping both of them, but if we really needed burgundy they would not work.

I read a ton of reviews, bought (and quickly returned) comforters from stores like TJMaxx + HomeGoods, and pretty much agonized over the decision to get a new comforter for my bed. I wanted something thick and fluffy, warm (but not hot), and stylish that made me feel like I was in a hotel. And I wanted to spend no more than $60. This fits the bill nicely.
I've tried the Beckham Hotel pillows and absolutely love them so took a shot on this comforter even though the squares aren't the style I like. It fluffed up nicely after being removed from the shrink wrap - no smell! It's quite wrinkled out of the package (as pictured) so if that's something you'd be bothered by, just wash and/or iron. I was worried about the reviews that showed tearing after the first wash, so I washed it right away in case it broke - so I could return if necessary. Washed on delicate + no heat dry as per instructions, and it fit nicely in my front loader with no tears or snags (it did take 3 cycles to dry but I'm not surprised with no heat).
This is quite warm and soft and cozy. I'm from NorCal but just relocated to the midwest, and this is too warm for my husband this summer (70-80 degree nights). But I like to be toasty so I'm keeping it for my own use and he can use our old quilt. ;)
To cover the look of the squares, I ordered a duvet cover and am still under budget. Overall pleased and would recommend to anyone else looking for that hotel experience!
